(Southington, CT) February 13, 2026 - Join the Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington and the Postpartum Support International CT Chapter, along with local perinatal support providers, to learn about perinatal mood disorders, support, treatment and care resources.

Babies are welcome!

Approximately 15% of all women will experience postpartum depression following the birth of a child and up to 10% will experience depression or anxiety during pregnancy. When the mental health of the mother is compromised, it affects the entire family. (Source: https://postpartum.net/about-psi/)

“We are hearing from families that postpartum depression, which can occur up to a year after giving birth, is a growing concern,” said Joanne Kelleher, Executive Director of the Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington, “And so we are partnering with several local organizations to sponsor this Pregnancy & Postpartum Mental Health workshop.”

This free event is part of the ECCS’s Southington Community Well-Being Grant Initiative through the Bradley Henry Barnes & Leila Upson Barnes Memorial Trust at the Main Street Community Foundation.

This program is sponsored by the Early Childhood Collaborative of Southington and will be held in the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain Community Room of the Southington Public Library, 255 Main St., Southington, CT 06489.
