First Baptist Church of Southington, located at 581 Meriden Avenue, has announced the worship services for Holy Week, beginning with Palm Sunday and ending on Easter Sunday. The Rev. Sharon R. Holt will lead the services. The public is always welcome and the church is handicapped accessible.

On Palm Sunday, March 29, the 10 a.m. service will include the distribution of palms commemorating the triumphal entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem.

On Maundy Thursday, April 2, at 7 p.m., there will be a special solemn service of remembrance, communion and prayer in remembrance of the Last Supper.

The Easter sunrise service will be held Sunday, April 5 at 6:30 a.m. at the Merriman Cemetery, located on Marion Avenue at the corner of Nutmeg Drive, in the Marion section of Southington. If the weather is wet, it is recommended that worshippers wear boots and bring umbrellas.

The traditional Easter Sunday service will be held at 10 a.m. at the church and include special music, the Easter message and celebration of the Resurrection.
